In the previous year, we used rebound hammer for the testing of compressive strength. But, later on we came to the conclusion that it had variations in readings such that the readings changed as per human variation. So, this year for the major project we have decided to design a new instrument which looks like a SHOT GUN. This gun will give readings such that no human variations will be considered. It will work upon the principle of Kinematic Equation, such that a fixed load will be applied for every material like bricks, concrete, wood.
The main advantage of this instrument is that it can also be used for heavy structures like dams, bridges. All the observation carried out by this gun will be DIGITAL. Rebound hammer basically works on drilling of core from the walls, but this new instrument will not require any kind of core sample.
